Informed Sport Certified. Every Batch Tested.
doingwell is independently tested for 285+ banned substances before every batch ships. This is the gold standard in sports supplement safety — and most brands skip it entirely.

Built From a Hard Lesson
Early in Sean O'Malley's UFC career, a routine drug test came back positive for a banned substance — not because he cheated, but because a supplement he trusted was contaminated.
He was suspended. His career was on the line. The system doesn't care about intentions.
That experience changed everything. When Sean co-founded doingwell, the rule was simple: if it's not safe enough for fight camp, it doesn't ship. Informed Sport certification was never optional — it was the founding principle.
You're taking something I'm using in camp and on my biggest nights.
— Sean O'Malley

What Is Informed Sport?
A global quality assurance program run by LGC. It is the most rigorous banned-substance certification a sports supplement can carry.
Established in 2008 with support from anti-doping bodies, every batch of a certified product is independently tested for 285+ substances on the WADA prohibited list using ISO 17025 accredited methods at part-per-billion levels. Each batch is tested individually — no composite testing — and results are published on informed-sport.com so athletes can verify by lot number.
Informed Sport is recognized by the UFC, UK Anti-Doping (UKAD), the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS), the English Institute of Sport (EIS), the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN), and others. Over 335 brands and 1,300+ products are certified worldwide. LGC tests 22,000+ samples per year.
Why it matters — even if you're not a pro athlete
Contamination is more common than you think
Research shows 10–15% of supplements on the market can be contaminated with substances prohibited in sport — steroids, stimulants, and compounds you don't want in your body.
"Banned" doesn't just mean banned in sport
Many of these substances are anabolic compounds, prescription stimulants, or performance-enhancing drugs that carry real health risks regardless of whether you compete.
GMP is not the same as banned-substance testing
GMP certification covers manufacturing processes. It does not test for or guarantee the absence of steroids or stimulants. Inadvertent contamination is still possible in GMP-certified facilities.
"Third-party tested" is a blanket term
Informed Sport is specific: accredited methods, parts-per-billion detection (10–100 ng/g), individual lot testing, and public batch-level verification. If the standard is good enough for the UFC, it should be the standard for everyone.
The four pillars of Informed Sport certification
What separates Informed Sport from generic third-party testing.
-
01
Manufacturing assessment
Every certified product's manufacturer undergoes an extensive audit reviewing cleaning procedures, raw material handling, storage, and cross-contamination prevention.
-
02
Every batch pre-release tested
Every single batch is tested by LGC's lab before it can be sold. Tested batches are listed on informed-sport.com with product name, flavor, lot number, and test date.
-
03
Individual lot testing
Each lot is tested separately. No composite testing — a practice that can dilute contamination below detectable levels and miss it entirely.
-
04
ISO 17025 accredited methods
Testing uses internationally accredited methods at LGC's world-class labs in the US and UK. If a prohibited substance is detected, the product fails and cannot be sold.
How do supplements get contaminated?
Contamination is rarely intentional. It is the result of weak controls — and it can happen in three main ways.
Raw material contamination
Poor quality control at ingredient sources can introduce banned substances long before a product is blended.
Manufacturing cross-contamination
If banned substances are handled in the same facility, weak cleaning and storage protocols can transfer them between products.
Naturally occurring compounds
Some plant-based and animal-based ingredients can contain naturally occurring prohibited substances at low levels.

Informed Sport, answered
Everything you need to know about banned substance testing and supplement safety.
What is Informed Sport?
Informed Sport is a globally recognized testing and certification program for sports supplements, run by LGC. Products certified with Informed Sport have every batch independently tested for 285+ substances prohibited by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) before being released for sale. It is recognized by organizations including the UFC, UK Anti-Doping, the Australian Institute of Sport, and the Council for Responsible Nutrition.
Why did doingwell get Informed Sport certified?
Our co-founder Sean O'Malley was suspended from competition after testing positive for a banned substance from a contaminated supplement he trusted. That experience became the foundation of doingwell. Informed Sport certification was never optional — it was the reason the brand exists. Every batch is tested so that athletes and everyday consumers can trust exactly what's in the product.
Is doingwell banned substance free?
We use the term "banned substance tested," not "banned substance free." No testing program can provide a 100% guarantee, and Informed Sport's guidelines require this distinction. What we can tell you is that every batch of doingwell is independently screened for 285+ prohibited substances using ISO 17025 accredited methods at detection levels down to parts per billion. That is the highest standard available.
What's the difference between Informed Sport and regular third-party testing?
Third-party testing is a broad term — it could mean a product was checked for heavy metals, microbes, or basic label accuracy by any independent lab. Informed Sport specifically tests for banned substances on the WADA prohibited list using accredited methods at extremely sensitive detection levels. It also includes a manufacturing quality audit, individual lot testing (no composite batching), blind retail testing, and public batch-level verification on informed-sport.com.
Does GMP certification mean a supplement is tested for banned substances?
No. GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) certifies that a manufacturer has proper documentation, processes, and quality controls in place. It does not test for or guarantee the absence of steroids, stimulants, or other banned substances. Inadvertent contamination is still possible in GMP-certified facilities.
How do I know my specific batch has been tested?
Every tested batch is listed on informed-sport.com and the Informed Sport mobile app with the product name, flavor, lot number, expiration date, and test date. You can search or scan the barcode to verify that the batch you have was submitted and tested.
Why should I care about banned substance testing if I'm not a professional athlete?
Because "banned" doesn't just mean banned in sport. Many prohibited substances are anabolic steroids, prescription stimulants, or other compounds that carry real health risks regardless of whether you compete. Research from Informed Sport shows that 10–15% of supplements on the market may be contaminated. Knowing your product has been rigorously tested protects your health, not just your eligibility.
Is every batch of doingwell tested individually?
Yes. Informed Sport tests each batch and each flavor variant individually. They do not perform composite testing, where multiple batches are combined into one sample — a practice that can dilute contamination below detectable levels. Each lot is tested separately and the results are reported individually.
What substances does Informed Sport test for?
The screen covers 285+ substances on the WADA prohibited list, including anabolic steroids, stimulants, beta-2 agonists, hormone and metabolic modulators, diuretics, narcotics, and more. Detection levels range from 10–100 ng/g depending on the compound.
Which doingwell products are Informed Sport certified?
Our Performance Electrolyte Drink Mix in Coconut Lime and Raspberry are both Informed Sport Certified (SKUs: DW-STK-RSP-30-V1 and DW-STK-CCL-30-V1). New flavors will be submitted for certification as they launch. You can verify any batch at sport.wetestyoutrust.com.
